Just wondered if I can get some advice... I had triple negative breast cancer last year; had chemo July-Dec, followed by lumpectomy and radiotherapy. I was given the all-clear in May (hooray!!), but I've had 3 cysts since then, which obviously all had to be checked out and drained. The feelings of dread every time I find a lump, while I'm waiting for an appointment, and when I'm at the hospital, having the ultrasounds etc, are just awful, and so I've been thinking about a mastectomy. Would this even be an option though, now that I'm all-clear?
I'd consider going private if I have to; I just seem to be in an endless cycle of 'find a lump, get it checked, find another lump...'. I dread to think how much time and resources I must be costing the NHS too. And I'm not exactly big and busty, so I wouldn't find it particularly upsetting, losing my cyst-y breasts!!
