Lymphoedema

Hi to those suffering from lymphedema. I have myself for 22 years following breast cancer, removal of all my lymph nodes (no cancer was found in them), chemo, aggressive radiotherapy and aggressive physiotherapy (at a hospital) by someone with obviously no knowledge of lymphedema. Anyway all that said I have found a drug that has greatly improved my quality of life over the last two years. My arm has less fluid and since starting in the drug I have had no bouts of cellulitis which has been a godsend. My skin condition is greatly improved also. I urge anyone suffering with this debilitating condition to try it. It has been trialled and has been found successful. It doesn't get rid of it, but it has dramatically helped me. It is called Ketoprofen.  In the UK the brand name is Oruvail. I couldn't post a link to the document but if you search Ketoprofen for lymphedema you'll find it. I hope it can help some of you ladies. All the best. X

  • Hello Sylvie1955,

A warm welcome to our forum. I am so glad that this drug is working well for you for lymphoedema and has made such a great difference.

This drug is only available on prescription though so anyone considering it needs to talk to their doctor about whether it might help and what potential side effects there might be if any.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with us!

    Best wishes,
