Nearly a year ago I posted here about stopping tamoxifen after 10 years. I was feeling a little apprehensive about it to say the least. I read many of the posts here from people who had some bad reactions and just wanted to let you know how I got on.
My GP advised to just stop taking it which is what I did. I waited for the terrible side effects of withdrawal to kick in, but nothing noticeable happened, I have had more joint point in the last year, but think is more that I'm a year older and there's a lot of arthritis in my family. I just wanted to balance some of the feedback as so many that posted here had a hard time. It's been 11.5 years since having breast cancer and I'm very grateful for the surgeon, oncologist, nurses and all the treatments that have got me this far. It's not an easy journey at times but there is so much hope of life after cancer because of them.
I hope that the ladies who have posted here a year ago are doing better now. The journey is a little different for everyone so try not to look at too many experiences of other people.
Take care everyone! Xx
