I had a lumpectomy back in February and I still have a lot of pain and discomfort in my breast 10 months on? The Dr says it's normal but it really doesn't feel normal to still be in so much pain! Anyone else experience this?

Hello Charlotteanne
I'm sorry to hear that you're still dealing with some pain and discomfort following your lumpectomy earlier this year. It can take a long time for nerves to settle and sometimes this can cause pain but it's understandable that you may be feeling anxious about things.
You mention you've spoken to the Dr and I wonder if this is your GP or one of the breast team specialists? If you've not spoken with your breast care nurse then it may be worth giving them a ring to chat things through. Alternatively, you're most welcome to chat with one of our nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
I do hope that things settle for you soon.
Best wishes,

My lovely, Alli can say to this is that im coming up to 2yrs in Feb since I had my lumpectomy and it still gives me jip even now.
2 years, really!!!! I still feel so bruised and lots of stabbing pains, it's awful, so tender! Do you find anything helps to settle the pain? x
Lol. The only thing I can think of that would settle MY pain (considering I now have a vertabrae in my neck squashing a nerve which send pain down my left arm the same side as my lumpectomy) would be to just pull my arm off! Did you have any lymph nodes out? I had 19 taken out.
Oh no I guess I've nothing to complain about then, as I only had 3 removed
You can't say you have nothing to complain about. You shouldn't devalue your experience. Pain is pain and this *** is no easy ride by any means. X
I know but I also know it could be a lot worse so I am grateful for that x
