Not sure where to post about this, seemed like here may be the best option?

My partner has Goblet Cell adenocarcinoma. We don't know the prognosis or treatment plan yet. He sees the oncologist on the 14th. 

So, he's still married to his ex, and we have been together nearly 5 years. Does anyone know if he can get a divorce through quicker with a cancer diagnosis? Also will he still have to pay so much for it?

May seem a little selfish, and maybe too soon to say, but if he does have a terminal prognosis, I don't want him to still be married to her. 

Although she absolutely hates me and thinks I'm evil or something she's actually being quite good at the moment, but he was getting ready to start the divorce anyway... 

any ideas?
