Chemo treatment and my husbands work

Hi everyone....I was diagnosed with breast cancer and have had the surgery and now to start 6 sessions of chemo in the newyear..my husband works closely with over 100 people everyday and no physical distancing ect due to the fact it's a logistics business...

A few of the staff have had covid and he worries that he's gonna be high risk to me while I'm on chemo...he has no sickness time left as he was ill himself during the first lockdown...

I have no one else at home only him and he was told today there's no furlough available now..im on Scotland incase that changes anything..

Hope you guys can help

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Jac although I'm sorry for the tricky situation you find yourself in at the moment.

I hope the coronavirus shielding advice we have on our website will help you figure out what to do but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses they will be available next week on 0808 800 4040 between 9a.m - 5p.m.

It may also be worth checking out the latest advice given on the gov.uk and getting in touch with Macmillan, as they have financial advisers you can speak with that may be able to help as well.

Wishing you all the best with your chemo Jac.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
