Worried over coved-19

I have had prostate cancer for 3 years now I am on active surveillance but it feels like I'm living with a ticking time bomb, my family and friends are awesome, but my employers can't seem to grasp the seriousness of my mental state

  • Hi satnav,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It's good to hear you're getting support from your family and friends.

Firstly, if you're in any doubt about your risk and any measures you should be taking, speak to your hospital specialist - or otherwise your GP.

Do ensure you're following the government advice and in particular any advice relevant to your situation.

I'm sorry to read that you're not getting appropriate support from your employers. Perhaps try to make a note of your concerns and raise them with a manager or colleague. These are difficult times and everyone needs to take care to look after themselves and others, and this includes mental health too, which is really important.

You can find government guidance for employees here and if necessary on the Citizens Advice website here.

Make sure you're looking after yourself and not taking any unnecessary risks, and hopefully you will find support from your employers soon,
