Scar tissue

Hi I had a lumpectomy 3 weeks ago scar healed well on breast and underarm but feels very lumpy around the scar I'm thinking it's scar tissue has anyone else had this ? I've just started to apply bio-oil to see if it helps I'm seeing the surgeon next week for results of lumpectomy so hopefully he'll know if it's normal .

Hi MB01, I had a lumpectomy back in February and it’s still tender around the scar and bumpy under the skin. When I spoke to my surgeon I was told can take up to 12 months to settle and may always feel like that. Just my new normal now I guess. Glad your healing well, another step of this journey out the way. Nicky xx

Thanks for your reply I'm glad its normal it can be scary feeling the lumps but feeling relieved knowing it's scar tissue x

Hi Marie,
I had a lumpectomy and 2 re excisions back in the spring and the scar has really settled down now into a nice neat line, so don't panic it will get there but yr doing the right thing too with the bio oil.

Mine is still lumpy 15 years later!!!
