PICC line removal

Hi there

I have one more chemo treatment to go next Thursday and am hoping they will take the PICC line out straight away.

My mascectomy op isn't until 26th November, when I ask the chemo and oncology nurses they are not clear whether it will come out straight away or stay in for the op.

Has anyone had any experience of this? When did your PICC line come out?

    Hi,

    I had my last chemo on Tuesday there and asked for my Picc line to be removed, reminding them I did not have any infections/complications  etc for the duration. They were fine with removing it straight after last infusion. Quick to remove it just stung a little at the arm when removing the clips but was fine.

    Good you are on you last one, good luck with rest of your treatment plan, sounds similar to mine..

    Thanks for your reply, how do you feel after your last treatment? I must admit I can't wait, hopefully that will be the close of that chapter and the removal of the PICC line will help to underline it.
