Weak legs

Walking still an issue, 5 months after chemo and radiotherapy following breast cancer surgery.  I am not overweight and always been fit.  Legs ache all the time and have fallen due to wobbly weak legs.   Walk when I can, but hard. Stairs difficult and fed up with it.    Any tips.....?

  • Hello FiB,

I am sorry to hear that your chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments have had an effect on your mobility and made it difficult for you to walk. Poor you it does sound painful and walking does sound really hard for you. I hope you will hear from some of our other members who have experienced this before - it does help to talk to others who understand what you are going through at the moment. It would be worth also if you haven't done this already bringing this up with your medical team or specialist. They will have some good tips for you hopefully to help you manage this problem and hopefully to alleviate it. If you can't get through to your specialist easily, perhaps give your GP a call and mention that this is a real problem and is affecting your quality of life.

I hope this improves soon FiB for you. If you wanted to talk things through with our nurses, they are available on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
