Morning all

Sorry we are all on this but glad it exists.

This is new to me having only just had my wife diagnosed with bowel cancer, we won’t know the full extent until next week.

One of our many worries is unfortunately paying the mortgage whilst Lou is off for treatment and I am off caring for her.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Hi Andy,
I'm sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis - I hope they get a successful treatment plan in place quickly for her.
Please contact Macmillan who are great at helping with advice regarding finances, benefits etc. Here is their website www.macmillan.org.uk/.../your-finances
One point, if your wife has critical illness insurance, depending on the Stage of her cancer, she may be able to claim it.

It certainly is and it's just more stress you can do without. You will find Macmillan very helpful.

Hi MilesAS sorry you've found yourself here, if you are below pension age you should be able to get yourself official carer and get paid, also you might get money off council rates but it takes time loads of paperwork, good luck getting it sorted and good luck to your wife,.. Billy just a thought see if wife can get attendance allowance,
