Travel Insurance advice please

morning, what a grim day.

so I start radiotherapy today for three weeks, I fly the day after finishing, Doctor said no problem at all. Been looking at travel insurance, should I start cover from today or from the day I fly? I normally take it from the day I fly but just wondering as I’m going through radiotherapy beforehand should I cover myself from now.

Any advice or recommendations of companies to use would be really appreciated.

Thanks everyone, hope you’re all having a good day x

  • Hi Ploppy.

Hope that your first radiotherapy session went smoothly.

We've lots of posts about travel insurance and which companies members would reccomend on the forum. If you use the search function (magnifying glass) in the blue bar at the top of hte page and enter the phrase "Travel insurance" you'll get lots of posts suggested that you can read through.

I hope that the rest of your treatment goes smoothly and you enjoy your holiday!

    Best wishes,

  • Ignoring the cancer side of things, I normally take out travel insurance when I book the holiday as you’re then covered for cancellations caused by your own or other’s sickness. The actual travel dates are recorded when you buy the insurance and cover starts immediately. The only times I’ve ever used it were due to cancellations caused by my wife’s broken leg and other medical emergencies.
