Home care help for cancer patients

Hi All

My Dad has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and has been advised that he has to have less than £23k in the bank to receive free home help. I am a bit confused as my Mum recieved free home help when she had cancer and they did not ask what her income or savings were. Does anyone have any advice?

Welcome to Cancer Chat Laney although I'm sorry for the reason you've joined us.
Quite a few members here have encountered some financial difficulties on their cancer journeys so hopefully some of them will be along soon but if you haven't done so already it may be worth giving Macmillan a call as they have specialist financial advisors you could speak with about this.
I hope you're able to get some answers soon and your dad is able to get the home care help he deserves.
