Critical illness claim

Hi all, I got my diagnosis on 3rd Oct and had my surgery on Monday of this week. I have critical illness cover that was set up at the beginning of Sept. I called after my news to make a claim against the policy... I got a call from Aviva on Friday to say that my claim may not be valid since i had “symptoms” ( even though I hadn’t been to the doctor)  before my policy started and I should have disclosed this.... has anyone else come across this?  To say I am worried is an understatement!   I took the cover out in good faith and would have continued to pay the premium should I have had a clear result!  I am now facing this when I should be trying to recover.

  • Hi there ..

These companies try everything to weadle out .. that's my opinion any way ..

If you give McMillan a ring ... Monday to Friday ... they have legal advisers that will help you with your case ... don't give up .. and fingers crossed they will sort it ... or at least tell you where you stand ..

Sorry can't be more help .. let us know what advice you get , it may help someone else in that position ..Chrissie  ; ))
