Hi newbie here

Hi all,

Wasn't expecting this two weeks ago. I have been diagnosed with grade 2 invasive lobular breast cancer. Just had my MRI and got the follow up appointment on wednesday. Yes im worried about it but the doctor was very positive about the outcome but my main worry is the financial side of all this as I live alone and I'm on a very tight budget as it is. Really don't know how I'm going to pay the bills. Anyone else been like this and know what help I can get.

You may find you don’t need much time off work altho that will depend on the treatment plan. I had seven weeks off in total but each of us is individual so we all react differently.

Hi,
The finantial effect of cancer are often not publisized enough. Often you may be off work either full or part time plus the cost of getting to hospital for treatment. I would phone MacMillan as they have advisers who are trained to help people with finance advice.

Hi Brian,
My breast care nurse is getting me an appointment to see them. Im hoping my boss will be understanding to as she has been through this too, although not the money side of things.
