  • Hello Shea86,

I am sorry your mum has been poorly with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I can understand why you would want to go and visit her and spend some quality time with her in Scotland.

We tried to find more information on this for you and your first port of call would be to have a look at the Macmillan website here . They have financial advisors on the phone so don't hesitate to give them a call and tell them about your particular situation.

You might also be entitled to grants and loans and you can find out more about these here.

This information may also be of particular interest to you - it mentions "that you may be able to apply to your local authority's Local Welfare Provision scheme to help with travel costs to visit a relative or friend in hospital. This will depend on your local scheme." So it might be worth investigating all this!

I hope this helps and that you manage to get somewhere with all this - more specifically that you manage to get to Scotland :p

    Best wishes,
