Holiday insurance

Hello everybody looking for some help, were going on holiday in September my wife has had cancer and still has to see a consultant every 4months as they think she may need more treatment some time in the future. We have phoned some insurance companies and quotes are just ridiculous, we have been away to India last year and although we paid bit more was nothing like quotes we are getting now. She has had operation and it was after this we went to India. Wonder if anyone can help?

    Hello Gedster,

Welcome to Cancer Chat, although sorry that you have to find yourself here.

We had the same trouble with travel insurance. I have had two bouts of primary cancer, starting 7 years ago, followed by a lumpectmy and then a double mastectomy. I also have a number of co-morbidities.

We used to always take out annual insurance, but some of the quotes were charging consideraly more for a single journey than we had paid for the whole year.  We eventually came upon Staysure, who insured us annually for not much more than our previous insurance pre-cancer diagnosis. This is a topic which crops up from time to time on this site. If you search for travel insurance, you'll see other people's experience.

Also, if you search the Cancer Research site there is a list of companies who may cover you.

Let us know how you get on in your quest.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine
