Thanks

Hi Reebok,
I just wanted to stop by and provide you with some information I have found on our website about what you can claim in this situation. To find out more just click here and if you have any questions about what you have read do follow up with a call to our cancer nurses. They're freephone number is 0808 800 4040 and are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
I hope this helps and that you don't have to wait too long for your appointment with your oncologist. When you see them you could ask about this as well.
Kind regards,

Hi Reebok1,
Sorry, I don't know anything about PIP but you can seek financial aid from MacMillan towards travel etc.
Here is hoping that your appointment with your oncologist will happen sooner rather than later. X
Hi Reebok1,
If you are in England, once you have received a cancer diagnosis you will probably qualify for PIP. This is not means-tested so if you qualify you will get it regardless of how much you are earning or how much you have in the bank.
My local MacMillan benefits advisor fast-tracked my application for me, which meant I didn't need to have a medical appointment with the DWP before I received my payments. From memory, the payments were backdated to the date of my application.
Good luck
Dave
Having cancer does not guarantee PIP.
The application form still has to be completed and it depends if you can walk and whether or not you need sufficient care.
In my case, I was awarded the full whack of both mobility and care components.
