NH Follicular Lymphoma, cycles over, mental health suffering

Hi All,

I'm Tilly and have found things difficult from the 3rd cycle of R-Benda, and have just finished my 6th of 6.

I live alone, have no family support, most of my friends live some way away, I'm also not currenty allowed to drive due to another condition, which now seems OK, I also have a degenerative lumbar spine, thus am reliant on Public Transport and a mobility scooter. Dare I mention Southern railways ??

I've tried to keep an active social life, but it became to tiring,

I've had two major mental health crises in the last week, and am now awaiting a Home Assesment of some sort from someone, I've lost track as to who.

Has anyone else felt similar, if so how have they managed their way through it ?

  • Hi Woodstock,

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on finishing your last round of chemo. We hope that it's good news from here.

I was really sorry to hear that you've been struggling with with your mental health, particularly over the last week. It's not uncommon to struggle with emotions before, during and after dealing with cancer; as another member said over the weekend - cancer affects so much more than just the cells in our body. We have a section on our website about Coping emotionally which I've linked for you.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the home assessment that you mention. In the meantime of you'd like to talk to one of our team of nurses about how you're feeling then please do give them a call on Freefone 0808 800 4040. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
