Travel insurance

I have been recently diagnosed with NH Lymphoma. I would like to travel to Florida as I feel great there.

Can someone advice on how do I organise travel insurance? I would appreciate any advice. Currently I am waiting to start chemo but my Consultant said that I could travel as long as I time it wright.

  • Hello Gregg and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear you've recently been diagnosed with NH Lymphoma but a holiday sounds like a great idea, especially somewhere warm and sunny like Florida.

We have a section on our website about travel insurance that I thought may come in useful as you try to sort some out. Just click here to find out more. If you need any more assistance do give our cancer nurses a call. They are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040, which is free to call from a UK landline.

I hope this helps and you are able to jet off to Florida soon :)

    All the best,

  • Gregg, after looking at what moderator Steph has told you, look at www.insurancewith.com. I was diagnosed with bowel cancer over 2 years ago, after my treatment I got insurance with this company and went to Florida, I couldn't get an annual insurance as I was going to Florida for over 31 days. They are very good, if you need to speak with them they are usually very good.

i do suggest however to check out different companies and compare like for like quotes.

i am also looking at another site called quote.medicaltravelcompared.co.uk. There is a lot of great information on this site, I am working my way through it now

hope this helps and good luck with your treatment
