Hello Lesh and welcome to our forum!
I would normally ask our nurses to respond as I am sure they would be able to advise you on this, but unfortunately they are not available on weekends. Do you have the number of an out of hours doctor you could get in touch with or perhaps you could ring the hospital where you are currently having chemotherapy treatment? I am sure they will be able to guide you on this and I think it is best to check with a medical professional because you go. If that fails, you could perhaps also try to ring the 111 NHS service? Sorry I can't be of more help myself and I hope you will hear from the experience of others in our community.
Were you planning to watch an exciting game?
Best wishes,

Hi Lesh,
My gut feeling is to say to avoid anywhere where there will be crowds of people coughing and sneezing germs towards you!
This is based on being told this by my Oncologist when I was on chemo because my immune system was weakened by the chemo and there was a risk of contracting flu which could have killed me off.
On the other hand, if you feel it might be your last chance in a while to cheer on your team in an important fixture and you need an afternoon away from worrying about cancer, wrap up well and enjoy the match!
Your call.
Cheers and good luck with the chemo!
Dave
Hi lesh
it all depends on who you support
you are advised to be careful when on chemo, but if you take it to the enth degree you would just lock yourself in your house and not come out
thats a bit severe
even when trying to be careful, people we come into contact with, have been in contact with other people and those other people will be in contact with many others
so in theory every time you come into contact with one person you are exposing yourself to hundreds of people
my advice is be sensible, it is the time of year when coughs and colds are abundant, it's good to get out and still do stuff and if at all it most probably best to go at the early stages of chemo rather than at the end
life still goes on and treatment can sometimes be miserable, break it up with doing things
however if your team looses that may not be the best tonic

Thanks for the advice Vatch, the emotions are at sea at the moment. So for now I am going to to play it safe. Listen to the radio and wear my scarf .

You're welcome and sorry I couldn't be of more help. I hope you enjoy the match whether you manage to go there or listen to it on the radio. Are you cheering for Cardiff then? I hope your team wins!! :D
