Travel insurance

........Good morning, my husband was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphona in April this year...at the moment.my husband is on a watch and wait programme and has had radiotherapy to reduce a lump in his neck which was successful ...we were hoping to go to Spain just for one weeks holiday in Early October...can anyone recommend a Holiday Insurance Company please

  • Hi, there is a section on insurance on this site which includes details of different companies (I just randomly came across it). www.cancerresearchuk.org/.../travel-insurance
  • Thank you TJ I will take a look...I have some quotes...I have actually paid for an insurance today, but it is on a 14 day cancellation ..it was £260 for both of us Brians medical screening came to £154.... On top of the cost of the basic insurance cost. and mine was  an extra £28...so as you can see it's a lot of money almost the cost of another holiday....thank you for the info....xx

  • Hi,

If you type travel insurance in the Cancer Chat search box, you'll see several lengthy threads on the topic.

It is expensive - I paid well over £1,000 for mine but discovered a full year's cover was only about 50% more than 10 day's!

It is worth getting a few quotes - the diffeence can be up to 5x more expensive and check the small print. After extensive screening one company quoted a reasonable price until I realised they'd quietly excluded anything cancer related, which was why I was going to a specialist company in the first place!

    Good luck!

    Dave
