Taxotre

Hi

Was wondering if any of you ladies have had FEC-T?I'm going to have #4 in a couple of weeks and it's my 1st taxotre treatment.I've been coping very well with the FEC I've had minimal SE this time.

I am very nervous of the second half of my treatment.I know I shouldn't but I've been reading everyone else's experiences on Google and it doesn't look pretty.

Any advice on helping/coping with this part of the treatment?

Thanks ness x

  • Hi Nes

Just bumping your post up so that hopefully some members with experience of FEC-T will see this and respond. Please feel free to give our nurses a call too if you are nervous and worried. You can call them on freephone 0808 800 40 40 and they are available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,

    Kirsty

  • Hi Nessemo3, I have had FEC T, my last was 4 Dec. Several ladies were on the same treatment at the same time as me, and we all had different side effects. Some had none, some slight and some more severe. It seems to be an individual thing.  I personally felt quite poorly, but a couple of days inert on the sofa sleeping as much as possible worked wonders.  However you react, try to be positive. I promise you, you WILL feel better. I tried to think that the worse I felt , the better it was working - like a battle was taking place inside me, and I was going to win it!  Eat when you want, drink as much as you can and rest as often as possible.  Tell your chemo unit if you get any effects, they can prescribe something for you.

I posted quite often on this site and gained a lot of strength from the support.  If you have any questions, please ask - someone will always try to help. Pm me if you like.

In the meantime, take care and hugs xx

  • Hi

Thankyou for your kind reply. It's always a help to talk to others.I do know some ladies who have had chemo with me in the unit who have been just ahead of me and are already on 'T' and one lady who has just finished.

The tell me 'T' is harder? Also that they are so much more tired and don't quite recover from the treatments before the next.I'm just very worried about it anxious even..I've 3 children and enjoy being able to be 'normal mummy' for a couple of weeks between.
