Flying with breast cancer

Hi, I have a question - am long haul cabin crew and have found a lump in my breast, have an appointment next week but my question is if it's just a cyst or something else is it ok to fly with it? Or should I be going sick for work ? Don't want to be OTT if it's nothing or is fine to fly with but have had a duo ache in the area but have no family history of breast cancer ( but do have stomach cancer in the family ) thanks for any advice !

  • I ment dull ache ! And am due to fly on the 30th dec

  • Hello Becki,

    Welcome to the forum!

Best of luck for your appointment next week. Perhaps you could give our nurses a ring and they will be able to help you with your question. If you are based in the UK, their number is free and you can reach them on 0808 800 4040. They will be back after the Christmas break on Tuesday 29th of December so just one day before you are due to fly. Alternatively if you need an answer earlier, could you perhaps ring your doctor or ask them during your appointment (if it is before the 30th)?

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Becki,

Thanks for posting on the forum. The moderators have asked us to answer your question.

The short answer is yes you are fine to fly. Whether it is a cyst or something else there should be no problems with flying long or short haul.

I hope all goes well with the appointment next week.

    Kind regards

    Deborah
