Travel Insurance..Trip to the USA

Hi,

I just wondered if anybody could help us.

I have booked a trip to take my mum to New York in Feb for her 50th. Mum was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in the bones in January 2015 but we have been given the go ahead by the doctor that we can travel.

Mums scans have been coming back stable since January, and all of her treatment is tablet based. In herself, mum is still very much OK.

We are really struggling with getting travel insuance and I wondered if anybody knew any companies (for a reasonable price) that would ensure her trip to America? We have spoken to a few companies that would insure her in Europe but have declined her for America and we really need to sort this.

Any advice/help you could provide would be great.

Thanks

  • Hello Samantha,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. We have some information on travel insurance. You can find it here.

Interestingly, this question was asked on the forum before and we specifically had someone a while ago just like you who was looking for advice on travel insurance because her mum wanted to go to New York. You can find the thread here and perhaps you will find some good tips there.

I am sure our members will have some great advice to share with you on travel insurance.

I hope this helps and that your mum gets to go to New York!

    Best wishes,

  • chech out insurancewith.com you can get an instant quote online without committing. My trip was insured for a fraction of high street price. The excess was £250. MIA has also been recommended here too. Kim
