i am 46 have a wife who works part time 8-10 hours a week i have been placed in the support disability group of esa and as well as the cancer i have copd fibromyalgia and crohns i cannot work and keep waitin for the dreaded pip to come along but is there aany other benefits i can claim please as we r struggling badly and i cant watch my wife struggle anymore she works looks after the kids has me to care for and a house to run please help a family thats close to breakin point we have kept goin for 5 years now but im not sure what the future will bring xxxx help xx

 

  • Please make an appointment to see the McMillan Benefits Advisor via your local hospital.  As far as I am aware, there are two components to ESA, one of which is linked to NHI contributions and one to your last employment - I dont know if you are claiming both?  You should be entitled to PIP and your wife to Carer's allowance.  McMillan's help is invaluable in this respect.
