A Question for the Moderators

Good afternoon lovely Mods!

I was going to post this under 'help to use the forum' but couldnt find it.  I have noticed over the past few weeks that several new members have posted asking to talk to others about a specific cancer that they have.  Two this week - one brain disease and one kidney cancer.  Last week someone asked the same question re lung disease and another about head and neck cancer.

Is there a simple way of looking up threads about a specific cancer?  I tried using the search button but could not seem to get anything relevant to threads or posts, even when I entered 'posts regarding (whatever the disease)'.  Just thought it may be a helpful for members to connect immediately with others on the site who are going through the same.  Am sure its simple to do, but I just cant work it out - chemo-brain probably!

    Hello Max,

    I have just tried this and found if you click on the SEARCH FORUM button and type in the specific cancer in the drop down box, it brings up a list of threads relating to that cancer type, some as far back as 5 years up to recent ones. Hope this helps as you are right sometimes some of our newer member need  to find threads of a similar nature.

    Thank you for your question.

    Woodworm is right, if you click on Search Forum in the blue band at the top of the page you can type in a specific cancer.

    Sometimes we link members to threads on related cancer types and experiences if we feel that linking to a thread is helpful.

    We are looking at ways we can improve the search facility and feedback like this is really useful to our development team so we will be sure to pass it on.

    I knew there must be a simple solution!!  And it was me being a bit dim because I was using the other search box - hadnt even noticed the 'search forum' box that was staring me in the face haha!!!  Am glad I have found it because it will be useful to let new members know about it so that they can see the other threads and hopefully connect with people going through the same.  Thank you both very much!
