Jayne,one of our lovely members recommended MIA to me a few weeks ago.  They were very reasonable considering I have incurable cancer.  Just google MIA insurance.

I have tried all of the firms covering cancer - so far I cn find no insurance under £800 appprox and that would requie release of all X-rays scans etc. I shall keep working on it!!!

did you try the insurancewith.com site? The company was set up by a woman who had breast cancer and found great difficulty getting travel insurance.

I too had insurance quotes in the hundreds from other comanies I think they just give a silly quote because they dont want you custom.

First try I was quoted between £1095.00 and £1900.00 for 5 days.  MIA quoted me  £70.  I have pelvic and peritoneal cancer, enlarged lymph nodes and cancerous cells around mybowel, all of which is incurable.

Thank you to all responses to my post - it proves how useful this site is as an information resource.

Hi everyone, posting on behalf of my wife here.

She was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in November 2013 which was successfully treated but has since been diagnosed with a secondary breast cancer of the brain in May 2015. She's had the operation to remove the tumour in the last couple of weeks and starts radiotherapy on Monday (29th) for 3 weeks, after which, we're hoping to travel to Spain to recuperate.

Her insurance post-breast cancer last summer was with a company called All Insure who have already indicated they will not be prepared to provide a new policy given the change in circumstance.

Can any point us in the right direction of the specialist companies who would be able to provide a quote given the second cancer that my wife has now had in such a short time? Would love it if MIA could quote, but we don;t want to be in a position of having to make lots of phone calls to be knocked back.

I have active cancer recent surgery and radiotherapy and got a very reasonable qoute of £30 odd for a trip to France. Your situation may be very different of course. My partner who has active Chrohns disease got a quote which was just one quarter of what she paid two years ago with a regular holiday insurance company. Good luck and have a lovely holiday, it really is good medicine for both of you. (BTW I have no connection with this company)
