advice on benefit required

My hubby was diagnosed with bowel cancer in December 2014 he has had operation to remove bowel and now needs chemo which will last for approx 6 months, doc will not let him go back to work so we will be on SSP. I only work part time and I am afraid I will not have enough income to pay mortgage and other bills let alone pay for food, any advice appreciated.Thanks in advance.

You ask a very important practical question and I hope that you find a solution to your financial issues so you can just focus on your husband's recovery from the operation and support him during his chemotherapy.
