Ginger! I nibbled ginger biscuits, drank ginger tea and generally surrounded myself with ginger goodies. People kept sending me bags of ginger sweets and the chemo ward fed us on ginger ice cream. It won't totally cure it but it does help with the feeling of nausea. I would also suggest you mention that you are still getting sick despite the anti sickness tablets. There are loads of different tablets available and i had mine changed several times until I found the ones which helped the best. My consultant and my Chemo nurse both told me to let them know if they weren't working as well as they should and they would try an alternative product.
Good luck with the chemo, the only good thing is that it's over quicker than you expect. Dinky
hi racheal
have you got anti sickness tablets at home, because if not i am sure your nurse will be able to provide you with some which may help a bit,but to be honest its just time but i hope that you can find something to help you,so good luck with your quest for a magic cure,ps if you find let me know,so take care and keep your chin up.

Thankyou, I will try the ginger, and I will also ring the nurses, just feel wretched, maybe if we switch the anti sickness around a bit it might help, Thanks guys x x x
Hi Rachael
I am sorry that you are finding chemo rough.I found if i could get myself moving(gental walks) it helped a bit.Aso as long as you can keep them down as much water as you can.
Hi Rachael
I do so sympathise, having suffered dreadfully from nausea and vomiting after chemo. I too found ginger soothed my stomach but many different anti-sickness pills, anti travel sickness bands, my husband pressing different pressure points (which was recommended to ease nausea) didn't help too much so I resorted to following what I thought would help. This included nibbling dry crackers, strolling around and taking some nice deep breaths, sipping cool liquids through a straw and trying to take as much to drink as I could (not easy when you feel ready to be sick any moment, I know). If you're having difficulty keeping the pills down, they can be administered intravenously or as suppositories, so that may be worth a go if all else fails. The up side is it does wear off and can be such an effective treatment that it makes it all worthwhile in the end.
Hang in there Rachael - it does pass - and give yourself a pat on the back for persevering with this horrible treatment.
Love
Carrie
