I would appreciate advice.I am 38 and have finished my chemo but unfortunately stage 4 is still stage 4.I have tended to leap from one unusual health problem to another,13 operations and counting.18 months ago they found out I had cowdens. They caught my breast cancer on my first routine scan .
My daughter is 7 and I have to decide if I should get her tested as she has a 50% chance of inheriting .My genetics councillor was very kind and helpfull but I would like to hear from any one else in this position or any other cowdens people. It does not cause ill health untill you are a teenager and sometimes not at all,but the chances of me being long gone by them are horriably high. The braca gene also runs in my family but not one of my generation got tested untill I got sick and there are a number of smokers.I want her worried enough as an adult to do what she can but not so worried it rules her life.
