Financial advice - what support can I get to help with travel, accommodation and food costs when travelling for treatment?

Hi 

I’m looking for some advice I’ve been told today I need radiotherapy 5 days a week for 3 weeks but my treatment will be 3+ hours away from me.

Not suitable to be driving 6 hours daily so looking to book air b&bs but I currently do not get any financial support due to still getting paid at full rate from work while on sick and my husband also earns too much.

I have applied for pip (refused the first time due to being able to do too much for myself) is there any other financial support I could apply for to help cover costs of hotels, apartments, travel and food costs as it is all starting to add up

    I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're having getting financial support to help with your travel, food and accommodation costs. This must be very stressful.

    I hope this section of our website about what cancer benefits you can claim will be useful, but if you haven't done so already it may be worth getting in touch with either Macmillan or Citizen's Advice for further information and advice.

    Many of our members have been in this situation as well, so you are not alone CassieT, and hopefully it won't be long until you get to hear about their experiences and receive some support and advice.
