I have just joined this chat after seeing posts on Facebook about travel insurance for anyone with cancer. My experience of trying to find reasonable cover after completing treatment for prostate cancer is one of frustration and insurance companies just not prepared to provide cover. If you have completed treatment within the last 5 years almost all companies ask the question INCLUDING hormone therapy are with still undergoing treatment. As hormone therapy injections for several years after completing other treatment is almost standard then the answer has to be YES which usually results in either a simple no we can’t provide cover or a ridiculous premium of £1000s. Only one company asks the question EXCLUDING hormone therapy which I can answer NO. Admittedly I need cover for USA which I know will be expensive and have got an annual policy with Total Travel Protection for £900. Companies which advertise any age any condition are not telling the truth especially the big names like All Clear which quoted me over £3000 for a single trip. Makes me want to throw something at the TV screen every time Sky News weather comes on with this company as sponsor and the awful smug couple featured.
