I just wanted to welcome you to our forum and wish you the best of luck for your return to work next week. It sounds like it took a while for your wound to heal and I hope that it's now better with only that tiny hole that requires a dressing. I can imagine you are a little bit scared about returning to work after this time away especially if your job is physical. It must be a bit daunting for you especially if no one has been in touch to ask if you are coming back but I am sure they will be happy to welcome you back.  

It's completely normal to worry about how you look after what you have been through physically and emotionally but your colleagues will be happy to see you again and won't pay attention to any changes. Getting back into a work routine may not be easy at first but I hope that it will also give you a welcome distraction. Try and take it easy though at first as you don't want to over exert yourself and feel exhausted. 

Macmillan have a very interesting section on work and cancer and it does have a paragraph on how cancer might affect your feelings at work that very much echoes what you describe. Talking about your feelings and to people at work can help and I hope that it will all go well for you this week and that you will soon settle into a new work routine with the support of your colleagues and team if you work with other people. 

There will be others on our forum who have felt the same way before and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their own experiences of returning to work after being off due to illness, surgery and cancer treatment.
