PIP advice

Hello.

Long story cut short, diagnosed with T1 SCC tongue in 2019 following numerous surgical procedures, passed my remission earlier last year - YAY - then was re-diagnosed Dec 2024 with the same thing close to the original site. Again, numerous surgical procedures followed and a recent biopsy has shown severe dysplasia close to the original site, so awaiting a date for further surgery.

My fatigue levels are really bad and my anxiety is through the roof as I have only just turned 40 and it's a lot to deal with and manage. The after effects have never really changed, I use saliva replacement spray daily (more when I am physically active or highly anxious) and although I've been working throughout I have just started a new job within the NHS but if I go off again sick I am not eligible for sick pay (as I have used it all up this year) which worries me tremendously as I have a young family.

It has been suggested that I should try applying for PIP but I don't think I will be successful due to this really only affecting me mentally and only slightly physically,

Has anyone been successful applying with an early cancer like me? Not sure if it's worth a punt or not. At a bit of a loose end at the moment and not sure what to do for the best.

Any advice is welcome.
