Just to share, I've had my stoma just over a year, when my treatment finished and I was fit to fly..with my now tripled in price annual holiday insurance off I went,I got the travel document (in several languages)should j get stopped at security screening.Ive travelled alot (as much as I could )making the most of my life, I'm not sure if they have new machines at Manchester?sometimes walk straight through but the booth ones usually highlight my stoma,so it's just a quiet word with staff and they just put their scanner paddle over it,so no problems, however my last trip (3 weeks ago,)it was more thorough, the female security called out "I need a private search"so another female arrived(both nice, both chatty,)took me to a private room, where I had to lift my jumper and lower the top of my briefs,so they could scan my stoma,it wasn't a problem and didnt take long,I was more concerned about my handbag which would've just been left in security ,so if anyone else gets this type of check, wait for your handbag..or wallet..
