Hi Mazza, 

Usually it's best to avoid using hot tubs and saunas when having chemo because bacteria and other germs grow faster in warm water. Also, some people have found chemotherapy can make their skin sensitive to chemicals such as chlorine, so any swimming pools that contain chlorine would need to be avoided as well. 

I'm not sure from your post when your mother in law is hoping for this trip to take place, but try to encourage her to speak to her medical team so they can advise her on how she can stay safe whilst you're away.
