Travel Insurance

I have a 2 week holiday to Switzerland booked with travel insurance however I’ve recently been diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer requiring mastectomy and chemotherapy however this will take place after the holiday.  I feel totally well as I’m not on any treatment but if I inform my insurance company I am am certain they won’t cover me for this.  Any suggestions on this?  Many thanks

  • Hi Bramble24,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of your situation and I can understand your dilemma. In order for the travel insurance to be effective, it sounds like you should probably inform them - but if they then say they can no longer provide cover, then there may be other options you can explore.

We have some guidance on getting travel insurance on our website.

Also, as this is a topic that comes up quite a bit on the forum, you may find it helpful to search (using the bar at the top of the page) for other similar discussions on here. By doing this you should be able to find recommendations from others of specific providers.

Hopefully you'll also receive some more replies to your post here soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
