Bladder Cancer and travel insurance

I have recently been diagnosed with low grade non muscle invasive urothelial carcinoma following a rigid cystoscopy, stage pTaG1.

The question I have is we are booked on a cruise around Europe in October. Are there any other people who have been in this position and who or what can I do about travel insurance? Are there any that people could recommend.

Thank you for your time, I look forward to your responses

  • Hi Ian63,

I am sorry to hear about your recent bladder cancer diagnosis. A cruise around Europe sounds exciting and I can imagine you were very much looking forward to it but you're right to look into your travel insurance options after receiving your diagnosis and to make sure it is fine for you to travel. Ask your medical team too if from a medical point of view, they think it's fine for you to go on this cruise in October.

I hope this information I've found about cancer and travel insurance will help you find what you're looking for but for further information and advice it may be worth giving the Macmillan helpline a call as they have specialist advisors you can speak to about this who should be able to assist you further.

We also have useful information on our website on travelling with cancer which I recommend you read and it also includes a  helpful section on getting travel insurance.

Hopefully some of our members who have been able to find such travel insurance will share their tips and advice with you soon.

    Best wishes,
