Struggling at work

I returned to work 8 months ago after having Triple Negative Breast Cancer. 8 months chemotherapy surgery and radiotherapy. I'm struggling at work keeping up with work targets etc. Occupational health say I'm fit for work with adjustments. I don't feel the adjustments made by my employers are working out. I suffer from brain fog daily. I have a high pressure target driven job. Not sure if I can cope much longer with my job.

  • Hey

I’m really sorry to hear you’re struggling. I came on here as I feel overwhelmed with life after treatment. Well I’m still having immunotherapy but back at work etc

i think you should sit your manager done and be brutally honest how this is making you feel. Also remember you’ve been through hell during treatment… we don’t come out the other side the same person not really. I believe we have to adjust to a new us, a post chemo version of ourselves.

it's important to know that people affected by cancer are protected against discrimination by the Equality Act 2010. Talking to your employer can also help them to make changes that will support you during treatment. They can help and support (copied from the NHS website)

please be kind you yourself and message any time xx

  • p.s I was also treated for TNbC xx
