Holiday

My Father in law has terminal cancer and is due to come home from hospital soon for end of life care however this could be for weeks or months yet. Me and my wife are due to go on holiday. My 2 questions are. Should I still go on holiday knowing he will be home by himself with carers going in and the occasional visitor or shall we stay home? And secondly, will an insurance company pay out if you have to cancel a holiday due to a terminally ill family member (who wasn’t due to come on the holiday) ? Thank you

  • Hi , my advice would be to stay home , holidays can be postponed .You won’t get this time back with your father in law , it’s very sad . Speak to your Gp to see if he’ll write you a letter ( you”ll have to pay, about £30 I think) then the holiday can be rebooked usually free of charge . X
