I'm so sorry to hear this news. If you have cancer, the law in the UK considers this as a disability. This means you cannot be treated less favourably than other people (who do not have cancer) because you have cancer, or for reasons connected to the cancer. That would be discrimination.

Please do have a look at the information about work and cancer on the Macmillan website and consider getting in touch with the support line. They will be able to give you some sound advice and support for moving forwards.

Ask for a copy of the company sick policy and establish what measure they used to issue the warning. If you find they used the same measure on you as they would use for a non disabled person (you will need to be sure the sickness /s you were warned for all relate to cancer and it's treatment) this would mean you have been measured unfairly and should write to them advising this, ask for the warning to be struck from your record  point out cancer is automatically covered under the 2010 equalities act, and moving forward they should not count any sickness that are directly related to your condition in any measure that may result in any subsequent warnings.
