Merkel Cell update

After my diagnosis just over a year ago I had chemotherapy and radiotherapy followed by immunotherapy. This seemed to be working but the cancer has. now returned and spread and I have started more chemotherapy. Trying to stay optimistic for my family but disappointed and worried

    I'm sorry to hear that you've recently learnt that your cancer has returned and spread. it's understandable that you're feeling disappointed and worried about things especially as the treatment had appeared to be successful over the last year. 

    If it's difficult to talk to your family about how you're feeling at the moment then you're most welcome to call our team of nurses to chat with them. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040 and I'm sure they'll be happy to listen and offer any advice and support that they can. 

    I do hope that the new chemotherapy drugs don't cause you too many side effects and that the treatment is successful in keeping things under control. Keep in touch Boycott100 and let us know how you get on.

    I'm sorry the cancer has returned and your obviously extremely worried, I'm so sorry. And I hope you can continue to fight, stay strong.

     

    I wanted to ask for your advice regarding alcohol with MCC before treatment. 
     

    But I can get the information from elsewhere I'm sure.

    Alcohol was like several other things I just didn't fancy the taste. I think best advice was eat/drink what you fancy but in moderation  often I struggled to swallow so didn't feel like anything. But improved eventually.

    Just noticed all the typos and spelling mistakes in the original - it was late at night, and I wasn't drunk! I've just started my new chemo regime and so far its not as bad as i feared. Not gone off my food (or drink) yet!
