Hello Shiela
I'm sorry to hear that you struggled with side effects of your first cold cap treatment this week. I know that many women have posted here on the forum sharing their experiences and it's not uncommon to experience headaches during the treatment. It sounds as if you've had quite an intense experience and it would be a good idea to chat this through with the chemo nurse team next time you go for treatment.
In the meantime, if you'd like to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
Best wishes,

Hi Shiela,
I used the cold cap through my 6 chemo sessions ( fect) and must admit its tough going, especially the first 15 mins when it goes on. Once you get through that it s a breeze as your head goes numb. It was also successful as I managed to keep around 70% of my hair and no one suspected a thing. This was an absolute godsend and made me feel so positive about everything. My tips to help would be
Take a couple of paracetamol half an hour before the cap goes on
A warm scarf wrapped around ur neck
A hot water bottle
A lovely warm fluffy blanket.
Keep going , it's worth it most definitely!!!!!
Take care
