Found another lump while having chemo??

Curious if anyone else has experienced anything like this? I'm on my 3rd cycle of paclitaxel and carboplatin for a lump in my left breast. However, I've recently discovered a big gobstopper in my right breast. I'm now really worried, thinking that the cancer has spread whilst I'm having treatment. I'm also getting really bad stomach cramps, which I put down to the chemo, but again, driving myself crazy with worry that cancer has spread to the stomach etc. I have an appointment this Wednesday with my oncologist, so I'll be telling them all this, but just wanted to vent my worries on here!

  • Hi

Have you contacted your breast team regarding the lump? I'm also going through chemo for breast cancer and experienced pain in the operated breast after starting PC. I contacted my breast team who got me in to check and do an ultrasound. I also saw my oncologist as they wanted a check before continuing treatment.

  • Yes, I phoned the breast care nurses last Thursday, and she said it was very unlikely to be anything to worry about while I'm on chemo, but to tell the oncologist this Wednesday when I see him. I'm just desperate for Wed to arrive so I can tell him! Did your ultrasound and check-up go ok?

  • Just an update... I told the oncologist this Wednesday, and she said I would be booked in for an ultrasound. She didn't think it was anything to worry about and just a cyst (although they said that all along about the cancer!!), as it was moveable and it's grown quite quickly (apparently cysts behave like that). I've had a phone call this morning, and the ultrasound is booked for the 23rd Oct, 2 weeks away. Just have to pray it isn't anything bad!
