Secondry liver cancer

My husband was diagnosed with bowel  cancer nearly 4 years ago . He had surgery to remove it the chemo .we hot the all clear fir 6 months when he went for his next check up unfortunately the cancer had spread to his liver.we were then told no surgery is available but luckily a few weeks before covid the surgeon contacted him and did the surgery. He then went 9 months with no chemo. The next scan showed his cancer was back . He's been having chemo for 6 months but it is no longer working.

We received a letter to say he might be able to have immune treatment but we will have to wait 6 weeks with out any news he has now gone 14 weeks with out any chemo and still another 6 to wait .has anyone had any success with immune treatment. If not the oncologist  has said 6 months at the most

  • Hello Susan68

I'm sorry to hear the news that your husband has secondary liver cancer. It's obviously an incredibly difficult time for you both and it's understandable that you're feeling anxious whilst waiting to hear if immunotherapy is an option for him.

I'm unsure if we've any members here who have been through this but if there is hopefully they will post to share their experiences with you.

I wonder if you'd find it helpful to talk things through with one of our team of nurses? I'm sure they'd be happy to offer any advice information and support that they can. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
