Hi everybody!
Hope you're all well.
It's now been a year since my mums diagnosis, I just have a few questions regarding the follow ups and what to expect... My mum had a lumpectomy last October, the found a 20mm Tumour (it was 15mm when they first saw it but due to delays it grew slightly) she had a lumpectomy and her tumour was removed she had both clear lymph nodes and margins. (YAY) Unfortunately the grade of the tumour was grade 3 (In a previous biopsy it was grade 2 but the doctor did say it can alter)
They sent my mums tumour to be scrutinised under the Oncotype test, the object of this test is to get a better understanding of what the likely hood of reoccurance would be... Its graded 1-100 as my mother is 66 anything over 25 would be a moderate risk of coming back therefor chemo would be recommended. Luckily it come back at 17.
Sorry to ramble... She has also been taking letrozole which thankfully she has very little side effects from apart from fatigue.
Yesterday she attended her routine mammogram (We will have the results next week) the oncologist contacted her today to see how she was getting on, he informed her he did not have the results of the mammogram, but would like to send her for a yearly MRI as the results from her first ever mammogram and ultrasound were not as clear as he would of liked. (Due to dense breasts)
I am freaking out over this, another appointment, another test, another result we'll have to wait for... My anxiety is sky high.
Has anybody else had another MRI on their first routine check?
Anybody else had low oncotype scores?
Thank you very much :)
