What cancer have you been diagnosed? They use different drugs for different cancers and each will have its own side effects.
Speak with your oncologist they will be able to advise what to expect, that's what I did when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and told I need chemo.
I don't know what drug you'll be on so your oncologist will be able to advise.
I have breast cancer and the first drug I had was not pleasant. I had it every 21 days for 3 lots. 5 days after treatment I spent 3 days in bed just couldn't do anything. Then 2 days on settee just making a cuppa wiped me out. After that my strength returned slowly ready for next session. Eating and drinking were hard due to horrible taste in mouth so thsts trial and error once you find something doesn't matter if you stick with it.
The 2nd drug I'm currently on is weekly for 3 weeks, 4th week 9ff and is much easier on the body. I have much more energy, do get some side effects but they copeable. I have lost my hair and just wear hats or go bald as dont like wigs.
It's not easy going through this so take any offers of help you get. Best thing I can say is listen to your body if it's telling you it can't do anything then don't feel guilty. If you need to cry then do. You can't be positive 24/7 so don't feel bad.
