Remission. Blood test and an earlier follow-up appoitment?

Hello,

I'm so stressed about my mom. She's in remission. In 2018 autumn she was diagnosed with stage 4a carcinoma of fallopian tube. She got a surgery, doctors removed everything what was needed to be removed and also she went through the course of chemo. Since then blood tests' results were good and this Wednesday she went for a follow up appoitment to give a blood sample. Therefore this morning she received a letter from the hospital that her next follow up appoitment is the next month... And I'm sick to think about it that they might found something as she was going to hospital every 6 months and now she received the letter asking her to go there the next month....

Is it a bad news???...

  • Hi Angelmayblessyou and welcome to the forum.

I know it's tough but if you can, try not to jump to any conclusions or worse case scenarios as there could be numerous reasons why your mum's follow up appointment has been brought forward.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will share their experiences and advice with you soon but if you feel it may help to discuss this with someone then our cancer nurses team are available on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to support you and put your mind at ease.

Wishing your mum all the best for next month.

    Kind regards,
