Hi sorry to read that you've found yourself in the club none of us want to be in. 

I got diagnosed in March had surgery in April. Luckily the lump was removed and it hadn't spread.   Due to the type I have triple negative I'm having currently having chemo then radiotherapy.

I'm petrified at the thought of chemo , not helped as I worked at Marie curie anyway and saw so much but it's still worrying me I'm off to see ongolisgist next Wednesday to ask questions

Its just all been such a shock to be honest

but I know I must be strong but I want to weigh up all

my options first before I make any decisions but they want me to have 6 chemos before I have lumps removed is anyone else having the treatment this way round ?

so thats chemo every three weeks to shrink the lumps x 2 then the op then radiotherapy x 5 sessions and the drugs for 18 months but , I'm going to ring them today as everyone is saying get the lumps out first

I think some consultants do some chemo 1st and others surgery. When I first had my biopsy results I was told it was hormone negative so had surgery then from thst biopsy it was triple negative so 2 different lots of chemo then radiotherapy.

Meeeeee neoadjuvant chemo! I've just finished 4 x EC which wasn't too bad sailed through it compared to what I imagined. Started my next chemo today pacitaxel which is every week for 12 weeks. I believe they give the chemo first for lumps that are larger so the chemo can shrink it to make the operation easier but I might be wrong. I think that if the treament shrinks the tumour from say 6cm to 3cm then it's also flushed any cells that may have travelled elsewhere reducing the chance of it coming back. X

The doctors can see it working shrinking it down! Xxx

Do know anything about your lump the size or if it's in your lymph nodes? I have two in one breast ones a grade 2 and the other a grade 3 and have 3 lymph nodes involved too but nowhere else thankfully. Yes 5 down 11 do go... Roll on November! 

It's 18mm but there's another next to it which they didn't tell me till this week ! I caught my left breast in the door in May this year then bra wire was stuck in another part of this left breast so I was 100% this was down to that as my Nan said every bump causes a lump , thing is I'm ex Nhs and Marie curie carer so I'm the worst patient ever , I lost me bestie Jeanette two years ago in a tragic car crash aswell so it's been so tough and I'm thinking something sets this off but I'm so against medical intervention but now I must be strong mustn't I

Oh I'm so sorry you've had a rubbish couple of years haven't you. Do you think the stress and pain you went through loosing your best friend set off the cancer? I'm only asking as I had a really bad anxiety after having my son and 2 years ago went through hell after finding out my boyfriend of 10 years had slept with one of my friends and I honestly believe the stress of all this caused it as there's no cancer at all In my family I was told by my breast nurse that stress doesn't cause cancer but so

much stress must do something to your body. You must be it's better then the alternative. Keep your head up you've got this xx

Well there's breast cancer in my family , my nan, aunt , mum and my lil sis five years ago we went to genetics aswell and they said no it's not genetic ( she's still going strong ) !!! But my dad also had it , but I do beleive that it just happens and who knows how or why , stress , trauma , pollution , additives , I'm in shock I have it though and yet I'm not I can't explain it really it's very common apparently breast cancer now more so than years ago but they seem to have amazing ways to treat it now , it's all so moved on and I beleive speaking to others make us stronger and more determined to overcome it all so you stay strong girlie and I will too
